Abstarct: Localization of radio, acoustic and vibration waves sources by passive systems has many applications in positioning systems, navigation systems, wireless sensor networks, defense, security, and geophysics. RSS, AOA, TDOA, and FDOA are some of the techniques available for passive localization. The performance of TDOA/FDOA techniques does not degrade with distance and multipath, but it may suffer from poor performance for narrowband signals. On the other hand, FDOA technique requires narrowband signals. Thus, the combination of TDOA and FDOA can be suitable for a much wider range of sources. In addition, the TDOA/FDOA method can provide more accurate interference source localization compared to other methods. In this study, we propose a method to localize an active aerial target (emitter) in three dimensions using the time and the frequency differences of the received signals from the target and those reflected from two large auxiliary terrestrial targets (pseudo stations) with known positions in a fixed ground-baxsed station. We use the jammer signal instead of using conventional passive radar signals. In this research, Jammer sends an interference signal to disrupt the radar operation. A part of this signal is reflected from the target with a predetermined position and returns to the radar. The radar receives the jammer signal with an antenna (which has a low gain) and uses it to create a filter matching the jammer signal. Then the Doppler shifts of this filter are produced. Next, with another antenna (which has a high gain), it receives the reflected signal from the target. This signal is compared with the Doppler shift of the jammer signal. It will have a peak signal at a Doppler frequency that is proportional to the speed of the target and at a suitable delay. Therefore, with the help of the time delay data between two signals, which is equal to the time difference of the arrival signal (TDoA) and the frequency difference of the arrival signal (FDoA), the position of the jammer is obtained using geometric methods.
